Growing up on a small farm in rural Dodge County, I had the opportunity to learn the value of hard work and the dollar at an early age. At only fourteen, I began what would become my lifelong career as an auctioneer selling animals at a local livestock auction. Not long after, I landed my first job auctioning used cars. In 2001, I graduated from Columbus High School and attended Missouri Auction School. In addition to working multiple car auctions each week, I also honed my skills selling agricultural equipment and closing estates. At just eighteen, I purchased my first home and began working at a local John Deere dealership part-time. In my early twenties, I married my wife Esther who is the Education Specialist at Renewal Unlimited. She oversees the Head Start program in five counties, ensuring all children receive a solid foundation in their education. Our daughter Charlotte, seven, attends Zion Lutheran School in Columbus, while our son Willy, three, “helps” with daily activities on our second-generation family beef farm.
Over the past year, I have watched our constitutional rights erode away. I believe we, as Wisconsinites, need to emphasize electing individuals with consistent conservative values to our legislature. I would be honored to be one of them. To protect our freedoms, we need to educate younger generations about those freedoms and their significance. From protecting our free speech to ensuring our future generations have the right to defend themselves, our conservative ideals need to be enshrined in law. Our fight to stay free never ends.
In between selling auctions and running the farm, I still find time to be involved in conservation with NWTF, Ducks Unlimited, and Wings Over Wisconsin. I serve as the President on the Board of Directors for Columbus Mutual Town Insurance Company and a member of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. I also enjoy volunteering at The Gathering Source Rural Resource Center. On Sundays, my family attends church at Harvest Evangelical Free Church in Beaver Dam.
